Requirements for returning a parcel

Uncategorized

There are various circumstances in which we may find that we need to return a parcel. For example, when, at the time of delivery, the item received is damaged, or does not meet our expectations due to a misleading and inaccurate description. In all these situations, we should be able to return the parcel and receive a refund or a replacement item. Let’s find out together, at FR Logistics, what the requirements for returning a parcel are and what they depend on.

What does it mean to return a parcel?

Returning a parcel means sending back, to the shop or seller, a product or item that was previously purchased. This may be because the product does not meet the buyer’s expectations, is damaged or defective, or simply because we have changed our mind about our purchase. Returning a package may require following certain procedures and meeting certain requirements set by the seller or the shipping company, such as providing proof of purchase and sending the product in good condition. What are the requirements for returning a package and what do they depend on?

The requirements for returning a package depend on the return policy of the seller or shipping company, and generally include:

  • Doing so before the end of the stated return period.
  • Provide proof of purchase (invoice, receipt, etc.).
  • The product must be in good condition and in its original packaging.
  • Follow the return instructions provided by the seller.

In general, after sending the return request, the seller will contact us to inform us of the acceptance (or non-acceptance). The reply must necessarily arrive within 2 working days, otherwise we may send a claim. If our request is accepted, we will receive an email with the return label, which we can print directly from the returns section of the website or from the email.

Some sellers use slightly different procedures from the standard and may therefore proceed by sending an email with special return instructions. Normally, shipping costs, when returning items purchased from third parties, are borne by the customer. However, if we receive an item that does not conform to the description, is damaged or defective, we are normally entitled to a full refund of the amount spent.

Where can I return a package?

Generally, we can return a package to the original shipping location or to any other branch designated by the shipping company or shop that sold it to us. It is also possible to return the package by mail or by sending it to the address specified by the company or shop – be sure to follow the specific return policies of the company or shop!

What are package return policies?

Package return policies are the conditions and procedures that a company establishes for handling products returned by a customer. These may include restrictions on time limits, acceptable reasons, how the return must be made and how the customer will be reimbursed.

Finally, we recommend that to avoid future surprises, you check the return policy before making a purchase and familiarize yourself with the specific requirements.
